Airspace

  • Year on year, regions around the world report steady growth in air traffic which places demands on the Air Traffic Management. There are regional initiatives (e.g. SESAR, NEXTGEN) to implement the ICAO Global Plan for Performance Based Navigation (PBN) but many other national and local airspace requirements are in their formative stages of PBN development. This will require the revision of operational systems, noise compliant routings, new navigational technologies (such as the use of the Global Navigation Satellite System) and the integration of arrival and departure procedures into the existing Air Traffic Control en-route network. Taking a top-down/ bottom-up approach will ensure that airspace planning is robust and sustainable.

INSTRUMENT FLIGHT PROCEDURE DESIGN

Cyrrus is an accredited Instrument Flight Procedure design organisation approved by the Civil Aviation Authorities of the UK and Ireland. We can provide new Instrument Flight Procedure designs based on conventional and satellite-based navigation. In addition, Cyrrus uses its Surface Shield safeguarding tool to protect your Instrument Flight Procedures under a controlled, quality-assured regulatory-approved process. Where required, we review and optimise existing flight procedures for efficiency and potentially to reduce environmental impact.

AIRSPACE CHANGE

Airspace is a finite resource and, in most cases, it has to support a diverse set of users that include commercial, military, general aviation and leisure flying activities. Cyrrus has the expertise and experience to research, design and progress the most sophisticated airspace change proposals from conception through to implementation. Our team use the ICAO airspace planning guidance as its base-line whilst also adopting the best practice articulated in EASA, UAE GCAA and UK CAA guidance material.
